Gwen, originally from St. Andrews, came to Glasgow in 1999
to study at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama with
Karen Vaughan (co-principal harpist, LSO). During her time there
she performed frequently with the Academy's orchestras and chamber
groups in venues such as the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Edinburgh
Festival Theatre and the Linbury Studio Theatre at the Royal Opera
House, Covent Garden. She also participated in several masterclasses,
playing for harpists such as Frances Kelly (Baroque specialist),
Kathleen Bride (Professor of Harp at the Eastman School of Music)
and Edward Witsenberg.
She graduated in 2004, having gained a BA(hons)(Musical Studies)
and Post-Graduate Diploma in Music (Performance, orchestral specialism).
Gwen also plays with flautist Lindsey Ellis, in
Elysium, their flute and harp duo.
